Job Purpose and Overview
Due to Appfire's exponential growth, we are seeking a talented and highly self-motivated professional to join our Developer Tools team as a Software Engineer. Our team builds apps that help engineers, developers, and software teams do their best work. In this pivotal role, you will be working with a high performance team that designs and delivers enterprise-class software products and solutions in the Atlassian landscape. There will be many opportunities to showcase your deep technical knowledge, keen analytical skills, proficiency at written communication, as well as your interpersonal and organizational skills. You will participate in technical analysis, design and development of Appfire products.

Key Accountabilities:

    • Design, develop, and maintain some of Appfire's leading products;
    • Carry out feasibility analysis and provide effort estimation;
    • Perform root cause analysis of software defects, working with a complex codebase;
    • Improve the functionality, reliability, performance, usability of the Software Products;
    • Comply with good software engineering principles, including but not limited to standard coding, documentation, version control, and testing practices;
    • Work closely with other team members in an Agile development environment;
    • Work efficiently with minimum supervision.

About You:

    • You have a B.E/B.Tech in EE, EECS, CS, MIS or comparable discipline;
    • You have 3+ years of professional software development experience in Java/J2EE technologies;
    • You have technical aptitude and experience with the following technologies: J2EE, JavaScript, JSON, XML;
    • You have development experience with Javascript and Web UI technologies including HTML5, CSS4;
    • You are eager to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to solve complex design and coding challenges;
    • You enjoy understanding and debugging someone else's code;
    • You like to work as a valued team player in a fast-paced environment in small teams;

Bonus:

    • You are familiar with Atlassian products such as JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, and Bitbucket;
    • You have development experience with jQuery, and ReactJs;
    • You are familiar with writing REST apis, and communicating with them via AJAX;
    • You are comfortable with Git
